Job summary

Gray Manufacturing Company, Inc. is seeking a machine operator for the 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 4:30pm-3:00am). Starting pay is $30.50 per hour including a $3.50 shift premium. Responsibilities include operating machine tools, reading blueprints, performing inspections, and maintaining quality and safety.

You will load materials, run production orders, document outputs for inventory, and prepare equipment with necessary programs and fixtures. Prior lathe/mill experience is expected.

Qualifications

• One-year vocational training or related experience in lathe or mill operation.
• Ability to use basic inspection equipment.
• Ability to perform basic math and read blueprints.
• Demonstrate basic PC computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines by reading blueprints and work orders.
• Load/unload stock and machine parts per work orders.
• Inspect parts to specs, adjust offsets, replace worn tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Maintain production rates and document results.
• Record materials used and parts produced for inventory.
• Set up equipment with programs, tools and fixtures.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
