Responsibilities

1. Plan machining by studying work orders, verifying blueprints, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
2. Set up lathes/mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving first part.
3. Adjust collets, three-jaw chucks, and/or vise jaws, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, and stock pushers or pullers during setup.
4. Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces; adhere to WIKA standards.
5. Maintain specifications by observing CNC tools, sharpening and replacing worn tools; follow quality assurance procedures.
6. Ensure safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
7. Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance, following manufacturer's instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
8. Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs across shifts.
9. Complete production and quality logs.
10. Contribute to organizational goals by taking ownership of tasks and exploring value-added opportunities.
11. Assist mechanics and machinists in repair work.
12. Perform ancillary duties as required.

Candidate Profile

• 2-4 years of experience and/or training, or equivalent education and experience.
• HSD or GED required.
• Manual dexterity for operating machinery and computers.
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends.
• Basic skills in reading blueprints and math.
• Knowledge of machine tool repair and maintenance preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of metal cutting and machining practices.
