Job summary

Hoppe Technologies, Inc., based in Chicopee, Massachusetts, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to contribute to aerospace and defense projects. The role focuses on setting up and operating 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling or mill-turn machines, with emphasis on precision and in‑process inspection.

The position offers multiple shifts (days, evenings, weekend days) and opportunities to work with Mazak, Okuma, and Matsuura equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines such as milling machines, mill-turns and/or lathes in a machine shop environment.
• Proficient knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators).
• Knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with understanding of GD&T and dimensions.
• Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate in English.
• Adaptable to changing work environments and able to handle multiple machines independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up, run and produce quality parts on CNC milling and mill-turn/multi-tasking machines.
• Load and unload parts, operate controls, perform basic program edits, and deburr parts.
• Perform tool changes and reset tool offsets.
• Use drawings and gauging to inspect in-process and finished parts, verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Dismantle setups and return tools and gauging to proper locations after runs.
• Detect and report machine malfunctions to supervisor and resolve issues with supervisor guidance.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area and perform routine maintenance checks.
• Comply with AS9100 quality program, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
