Job summary

Hoppe Technologies, Inc. in Chicopee, MA is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our aerospace-focused team. You will set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling or mill-turn machines, producing precision aerospace and defense parts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines (milling, mill-turn, or lathe) in a machine shop.
• Proficient in precision measuring instruments: calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators.
• Ability to read drawings/specs with geometric tolerancing and dimensions.
• Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts and accessories used on various machines.
• Must follow written and oral instructions and communicate in English.
• Adaptable to changing work environments and have basic math skills.
• Willing to run multiple machines independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run CNC machines to produce quality parts on 3-, 4-, or 5-axis mills or Mill-Turns.
• Load/unload parts, operate controls, perform basic program edits, and deburr parts.
• Perform tool changes and reset tool offsets.
• Use drawings and gauging devices to in-process inspect and verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Dismantle setups and return tools/fixtures to proper location after runs.
• Report machine or equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
• Maintain clean, orderly work area and follow safety regulations.
• Complete daily/weekly maintenance checklists on equipment.
