Job summary

Hoppe Technologies, located in Chicopee, MA, is hiring a CNC Machinist (Night Shift) to set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills or mill-turns for aerospace and defense parts. The role demands precision, reliability, and teamwork in a manufacturing environment.

You will work on Mazak and Matsuura machines, perform in-process inspections, and ensure quality while maintaining safety and efficiency. Competitive benefits and shift differential offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines such as milling machines, mill-turns and / or lathes in a machine shop environment.
• High School Diploma or GED; technical/vocational training desired.
• Proficient knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications with understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions.
• Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions; communicate in English.
• Able to adapt to changing work environment; team oriented.
• Basic math including geometry and algebra for fabrication calculations.
• Willing to run multiple machines independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Setup, run and produce quality parts on CNC mills and mill-turns with 3-, 4-, or 5-axis capabilities.
• Load/unload parts, operate controls, edit basic programs, and perform deburring.
• Complete tool changes and reset offsets.
• Use drawings and gauging to inspect in-process and finished parts.
• Dismantle setups and return tools and fixtures after runs.
• Report machine or equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area; adhere to safety and quality standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks on assigned equipment.
