Job description

General Summary

The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing machined parts by setting up and operating CNC machines, maintaining equipment and supplies, and adhering to quality and safety standards. This role reports to the Shop General Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions

1. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by following safety standards and regulations, and alerting others to hazards.
2. Perform assigned duties in alignment with TEAM's Core Values.
3. Plan machining activities by interpreting work orders and engineering specifications, including geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
4. Edit programs at mills and lathes by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, and switches.
5. Formulate machining requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
6. Set up mills and lathes with appropriate tools, attachments, and work holding devices.
7. Ensure machining specifications are met by observing, measuring, and troubleshooting processes.
8. Adjust surface speeds and feed rates to optimize tool life and quality, replacing worn tools as needed.

Job Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or relevant technical training preferred.
• 2-3 years of industry experience and/or training preferred.
• Travel requirements: 0%-25%.

Work Conditions

Position based at a branch or site, involving indoor and outdoor work in a plant environment, including interactions with staff and clients, around production machinery with high noise levels. Must wear safety equipment and tolerate climate changes. May require travel to multiple sites.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Walk, climb, and perform manual tasks with adequate communication and observation skills.
• Mobility to navigate plant environments, including access to elevated areas.
• Ability to focus, multitask, and communicate effectively.
