Job Summary

Operate one or more CNC or manual machines to fabricate production parts according to print specifications and quality standards, following company schedules, policies, and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work from drawings, sketches, and specifications to complete machining operations.
2. Set up machines to achieve close tolerances, fitting, and alignment of parts.
3. Perform inspections on first pieces and work-in-progress using various measuring devices.
4. Maintain records of time, part counts, inspections, and requisitions.
5. Keep work area clean, safe, and organized, adhering to quality standards.
6. Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines.
7. Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
8. Make jigs, fixtures, or other non-production devices as qualified.
9. Acquire raw materials, supplies, and tools as needed.
10. Assist in training other machinists as requested.
11. Perform first piece inspections for other machinists, as qualified.
12. Grind tools when necessary.
13. Troubleshoot drawings, machining, tooling, programming, and materials, making competent decisions.
14. Utilize Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T) as specified on prints.
15. Provide feedback on trends and recommend process improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certifications: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.

Skills and Experience: 5+ years of shop experience or apprenticeship, preferably with engineered plastics; shop math and blueprint reading skills; understanding of GD&T and blueprints.

Additional Requirements

This position requires U.S. Person status per ITAR regulations.
