Proto Labs is seeking a CNC Machinist I for the Weekday Night Shift (Mon-Thu, 5 pm-3 am) in Brooklyn Park, MN. You will program, set up, and operate CNC milling/lathe equipment to produce precision prototype and production parts, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to meet tight specifications.

The role demands strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with SolidWorks/Mastercam/CAD-CAM, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with CNC milling/lathe setup and basic programming.
• Familiarity with prototype manufacturing machining.
• Ability to read blueprints and inspect with calipers and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC milling or CNC lathe machines and run jobs.
• Prepare CAM files from CAD data, prints, or verbal instructions.
• Turn around parts quickly while maintaining quality standards.
• Keep parts, tools, and materials organized and tracked.
