Job summary

Protolabs in Minnesota is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist I for the Weekday Night Shift (Mon–Thu, 5 pm–3 am). The role involves programming, setting up and operating CNC milling and lathe machines using Mastercam and CAD/CAM to produce precision prototype and production parts.

You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize setups, ensure parts meet tight specifications, inspect components, and maintain shop equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as CNC Milling or CNC lathe operator preferred with setup and some programming understanding.
• Knowledge of prototype manufacturing and ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC milling and lathe machines and run jobs to meet tight tolerances.
• Prepare CAM files from CAD prints and verbal instructions.
• Ensure on-time delivery and maintain part quality.
• Inspect parts and maintain machine and shop equipment.
• Adhere to quality and safety standards and support continuous improvement.
