Protolabs is hiring a Machinist I for a FLEX shift (Fri–Sun, 6 pm–6 am) in Minnesota. You will program, set up, and operate CNC milling and lathe machines to produce precision prototype and production parts, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize processes and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience operating CNC milling or lathe with setup and some programming knowledge preferred.
• Familiarity with prototype manufacturing and ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC milling/lathe machines and run jobs to meet tight specs.
• Prepare CAM files from CAD data, prints, or verbal instructions.
• Ensure on-time delivery and maintain part quality per guidelines.
• Inspect parts and address issues affecting quality and tolerances.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area organized.
