Job summary

Regal Rexnord in Radford, VA is seeking a Machinist I to set up, program, and operate CNC lathes and mills, producing precision components. You will interpret drawings, select tooling, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to meet tight tolerances.

This full-time onsite role offers a base salary range of $42,000 to $53,500, along with benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Machine Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Strong math skills including geometry and tolerances.
• Experience with CNC and manual machining is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CNC lathes and milling machines to perform precision machining operations
• Set up machines, fixtures, and tooling to ensure accurate part production
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications to determine machining methods
• Select and recommend appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds for machining operations
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure tolerance and quality requirements are met
• Maintain tight tolerances and dimensional accuracy across complex machining operations
• Troubleshoot machining issues and identify defective materials or abnormal conditions
• Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure product quality
• Design or modify fixtures and tooling to support production and special engineering needs
• Maintain equipment, work area cleanliness, and adherence to all safety procedures
