Job summary

Protolabs is seeking a CNC Machinist I to join the weekday shift from 7am to 5pm. The role focuses on programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling and lathe machines to produce precision prototype and production parts.

You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop efficient programs, optimize setups, and deliver high-quality components that meet tight specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with CNC milling or CNC lathe setup and basic programming is preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM tools and blueprint interpretation is expected.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC milling or lathe machines and run jobs to meet precision spec.
• Prepare CAM files from CAD data, prints, or verbal instructions.
• Provide quick turnaround while ensuring accuracy within guidelines.
• Maintain job and material organization and inventory.
• Perform machine cleaning and general maintenance.
• Inspect parts thoroughly and make quality-based decisions.
• Ensure on-time delivery by timely job processing.
• Adhere to quality and safety standards and participate in daily production improvements.
• Support daily production by solving chronic issues beyond operator capability.
• Complete operator PMs during the shift.
