Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
• Requires completion of an apprenticeship program or similar on-the-job experience of approximately four years or at least five years experience as a machinist
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machining center from blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
• Use machinist hand tools and measuring instruments to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Perform calculations using geometry and trigonometry to verify tolerances and dimensions.
• Follow safety policies and maintain clean, organized work area.
• Possibly assign work to lower level machinists.
