Job summary

K2 Ascend Solutions in Redford, MI is seeking CNC Machinists for 2nd shift (3:00pm-11:00pm) or (5:00pm-1:00am). You will operate CNC mills and lathes, perform setups, tool changes and part changeovers, and make basic program edits to ensure high-precision components for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications.

Qualifications

• CNC machining experience with mills and/or lathes
• Ability to perform minor programming edits, offsets and process adjustments
• Strong blueprint reading skills including GD&T
• Understanding of tooling, cutting parameters and machining best practices
• Detail-oriented with reliable attendance and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC mills and/or lathes on 2nd shift
• Perform setups, tool changes and part changeovers
• Make basic program edits and offsets to maintain part quality
• Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, height gauges and other metrology tools
• Read and follow blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues

These roles are ideal for machinists who are confident operators but can also perform basic programming edits, offsets, and process adjustments.
