Job summary

100Hires, Inc. in Lapeer, MI is seeking a dependable CNC Machinist to operate and set up 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes on day/evening shifts. This role emphasizes precision, quality, and safety in a fast-paced environment with shift premium and overtime opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with tooling, geometry-based planning, and the ability to complete production logs accurately. Training in AS9100D is provided during onboarding.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and setting up 3-axis and/or 5-axis CNC machines.
• Ability to independently set up mills and lathes.
• Strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to accurately complete production documentation.
• Willingness to complete AS9100D training during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3-axis and/or 5-axis CNC mills and lathes.
• Install and adjust tooling, set tool registers, offsets, and compensation.
• Load parts and verify proper machine setup prior to production runs.
• Study work orders, blueprints, materials, and machining parameters to plan operations.
• Prove out part programs and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintain accurate production and quality logs.
• Follow AS9100D quality standards and complete required training.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area; adhere to safety rules.
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently and meet production deadlines.

Shift premium and overtime opportunities available.Position SummaryThe CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality machined parts that meet customer specifications and industry standards.
