Job description

Join to apply for the CNC Machinist role at ISC Manufacturing LLC.

We are looking for a skilled Machinist to operate HAAS lathes and mills and/or a large FlexCNC gantry mill. You will produce or repair parts using manual and automated CNC equipment, ensuring accurate measurements with programming experience.

A great machinist should possess manual dexterity, an eye for detail, knowledge of mathematics and mechanics, respect for safety precautions, and excellent time management skills.

The goal is to ensure effective production operations and optimize procedures.

Responsibilities

1. Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand the specifications of output.
2. Plan the sequence of necessary actions for job completion using lathes or milling machines, including required tooling.
3. Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
4. Select appropriate machines and tooling, and load material for a job.
5. Determine and program batch sizes, machine speeds, etc.
6. Monitor the machine during operation to adjust feed, maintain temperature, and identify issues.
7. Check output to ensure it meets specifications and discard defective products.
8. Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
9. Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs.

Requirements & Skills

1. Proven experience as a machinist.
2. Experience with manual, semi-automated, or automated tools and machines (lathes, mills, etc.).
3. Experience with HAAS ST40, TL2, TM 2P, and FlexCNC G-20-06 is a plus.
4. Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers) for accurate measurements.
5. Knowledge of the physical and mechanical properties of metals and other materials.
6. Ability to read blueprints, tolerances, schematics, and manuals.
7. Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
8. Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items.
9. High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship is a plus.
