Job summary

Lamsco West, Inc. is seeking a CNC machine operator to set up and run CNC equipment for drilling and milling various materials, including aluminum and stainless steel. You will verify parts against drawings and specifications, monitor coolant levels, and maintain tooling.

Responsibilities include QC on first articles, measuring with micrometers and calipers, and ensuring safe, efficient production. The role requires teamwork, punctuality, and flexibility to meet deadlines in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Clear verbal and written English communication abilities; able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Neat penmanship for manufacturing records and logs.
• Familiarity with inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; ~1 year of machine operator experience is a plus.
• Detail oriented with ability to multi-task and organize work efficiently.
• Able to adapt to changing schedules and meet production deadlines.

Job description

· Will set up the CNC machine, according to established procedures, to drill and mill required material and/or parts out of aluminum, stainless steel, Kapton, titanium, brass, copper, etc.

· Will utilize a lit or a drawing to verify that the machined parts conform to specifications.

· Will monitor the coolant levels and maintain CNC tooling.

· Will perform QC on first articles and on in-process parts.

· Will use micrometers and calipers to measure parts.

· Must be able to get along well with others.

· Must be able to work scheduled shift and meet company attendance requirements; must be flexible enough to stay late or modify work hours on short notice, if production deadlines require it.

· Must be able to perform the job safely; must comply with company safety rules and procedures.

· Must follow the lean philosophy and practice the 5 S’s on a daily basis.

Requirements: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:

• Have good verbal and written English communication skills; ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
• Have neat penmanship for completing Manufacturing Plans, inventory logs, etc.
• Be familiar with the use of inspection hand tools (micrometer, caliper)
• High school diploma or GED preferred; prefer one year experience as a machine operator.
• Ability to be detail oriented and able to multi-task several functions.
• Ability to organize work to optimize efficiency.
