Job summary

Cirrus Aircraft seeks a Setup Machinist to prepare and operate CNC equipment, loading materials, tools, and programs for production. You will verify conformance to drawings, measure first-parts, and ensure quality through GD&T interpretation.

Responsibilities include tool changes, program updates, deburring, and maintaining records, while adhering to safety policies in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 year degree from a Machinist vocational program required and 2-4 years relevant experience or equivalent.
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to read drawings and technical specifications including GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.) to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate production.
• Load material during operation and change or adjust cutting tools and offsets as needed.
• Determine if programs need updates or modifications and provide feedback to team members.
• Deburr product to drawing requirements using hand and power tools with high precision.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide activities and ensure quality.
• Follow work instructions to complete tasks and maintain daily production records.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and follow safety standards.
