Job summary

Cirrus Aircraft is seeking a Setup Machinist in Duluth, MN to load materials, set up CNC mills and lathes, and verify part conformance to drawings. You will read blueprints and adjust tooling, while maintaining high-quality standards and safety protocols.

The role requires a Machinist diploma or 2-year degree with 2–4 years experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within established procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-year Machinist vocational degree and 2-4 years relevant experience or equivalent combo.
• Ability to read drawings and specs including GD&T.
• Experience with CNC machines and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operates CNC machines (mills, lathes) for production.
• Load materials and adjust cutting tools and offsets as needed.
• Determine if programs need updates and provide feedback.
• Deburr parts to drawing requirements with precision.
• Check fluids, manage chips, and monitor equipment maintenance.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to guide activities.
• Inspect work and document deviations from drawings.
• Follow work instructions and maintain records.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
