Job summary

Daifuku North America is seeking a CNC Laser Operator in Hobart, IN for the 3rd shift (Mon–Fri, 9:00 PM–5:30 AM). You will set up, program, and operate CNC laser cutting machines to produce parts that meet our quality standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of CNC operating experience, can read blueprints and tape measures, and understands laser-cutting operations. LOTO, crane, and forklift certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of CNC operating experience.
• Knowledge of CNC laser-cutting operations.
• Ability to read a tape measure and micrometer.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good time management skills.
• LOTO certification required.
• Crane operation certification required.
• Forklift operation certification required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Operating single or multiple CNC laser cutting machines, including loading raw material and ensuring quality by maintaining focal point adjustment, feed rate, power, and other parameters.
• Ensures machine optics are maintained by performing tests and procedures, including tape shots, lens focusing, lens cleaning, nozzle cleaning, and replacement of any worn items.
• Labels finished parts accurately and delivers them to designated areas.
• Monitors laser operations to ensure machine is functioning properly and safely; records machine code errors and communicates performance issues to the supervisor.
• Uses inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
• De-burrs and cleans parts.
• Maintains quality, productivity, and safety records.
• Maintains supplies and performs regular preventive maintenance.
• Assists other operators with operating, inspecting, and cleaning machines and parts.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area.
• Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures.
• Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.
