Job summary

Daifuku North America is seeking a CNC Laser Operator for the Hobart, IN area on the 3rd shift. You will set up, program, and operate a CNC laser cutting machine to produce parts that meet quality standards.

Responsibilities include loading material, maintaining optics, inspecting parts with micrometers and calipers, and ensuring safety and productivity targets. The role requires 2+ years of CNC operating experience, ability to read blueprints and tape measures, and certifications in LOTO,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years CNC operating experience.
• Knowledge of CNC laser-cutting operations.
• Ability to read a tape measure and micrometer.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good time management skills.
• Team-oriented and collaborative.
• LOTO certification required.
• Crane operation certification required.
• Forklift operation certification required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Operate single or multiple CNC laser cutting machines, including loading raw material and ensuring quality by maintaining focal point adjustment, feed rate, power, and other parameters.
• Ensure machine optics are maintained by performing tests and procedures, including tape shots, lens focusing, lens cleaning, nozzle cleaning, and replacement of worn items.
• Label finished parts accurately and deliver them to designated areas.
• Monitor laser operations to ensure machine is functioning properly and safely; record machine code errors and communicate performance issues to the supervisor.
• Use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
• De-burrs and cleans parts.
• Maintain quality, productivity, and safety records.
• Maintain supplies and perform regular preventive maintenance.
• Assist other operators with operating, inspecting, and cleaning machines and parts.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
