Job summary

SteveRecruiter, LLC is seeking a CNC Field Service Engineer to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools at customer facilities nationwide. The role emphasizes strong electrical/mechanical skills, diagnostics, and a customer-first approach.

Expect extensive travel and both on-site and remote technical support along with customer training and project coordination. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of CNC service experience, PLC and FANUC control proficiency, and a proven ability

Qualifications

• 5+ years in CNC machine tool maintenance and service (electrical and mechanical).
• Experience providing remote technical support in machine tool industry.
• Proven ability to install and service machining centers with leveling and alignment.
• Strong PLC programming knowledge and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with CNC control systems, including FANUC.

Responsibilities

• Install CNC machine tool systems at customer sites with options and accessories.
• Perform leveling, geometry checks, and final adjustments for peak performance.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Identify root causes and recommend repair or replacement actions.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support via phone, email, and other channels.
• Support customers, distributors, and internal teams with guidance and problem resolution.
• Provide customer training and assist with project coordination as needed.
• Provide service at trade shows and company events when required.
• Maintain detailed service documentation and reporting.
• Travel extensively (100%) including overnights and weekends.
