Job summary

Mazak Corporation's Southeast Applications department seeks an Applications Engineer to support Sales by providing technical information on Mazak machine tools to produce customer parts efficiently and with high quality. The role is based in Suwanee, GA and requires travel.

You will assist with part processing, machine recommendations, time studies, and proposals; demonstrate machine features at trade shows; train customers on safe operation; and maintain clear, actionable reports.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of CNC machine tool operation and setup experience.
• Customer-focused with strong communication and reporting skills.
• Willing to travel up to ~15% and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM and EIA/ISO (G-code) programming.
• Hands-on, mechanical, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical information on Mazak machine tools to customers to support sales.
• Provide part processing / machine recommendations to optimize production.
• Perform time studies of machine cycle times.
• Create cost proposals including labor and tooling/workholding.
• Design work holding and tooling to support manufacturing.
• Demonstrate machine operation at trade shows and open houses.
• Rig and install machines at centers and events.
• Train customers on safe operation and detailed machine functions.
• Conduct test cuts to prove machine capability.
• Travel ~15%.
