Mazak Corporation is seeking an Applications Engineer to support Sales with technical information on Mazak machine tools and to provide part processing and machine recommendations. The role is based at our Northeast Technology Center in Windsor Locks, CT, with about 15% travel to customer sites and trade shows.

Responsibilities include time study calculations, cost estimation for manufacturing parts, fixture design, and customer training on safe machine operation.

Formación

• Associates degree or certificate in a related technical field with 2+ years of experience in a machine tool related field, or 3–5 years in a related position.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication with management, vendors, and customers.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
• Mechanical ability to build fixtures, assemble tools and rig and level machines.

Responsabilidades

• Provide telephone / e-mail customer support on the operation and use of Mazak products.
• Provide part processing / machine recommendations to best produce customer parts given part volumes.
• Calculate time study estimates of machine cycle time.
• Calculate costs to manufacture customer parts including labor and tooling/work holding costs.
• Conceptually design work holding and tooling to support manufacture of customer parts.
• Demonstrate machine operation and features at trade shows and open houses.
• Safely rig and install machines at technology centers and at trade shows, and provide customer training.
• Perform test cuts to demonstrate machine capability and processing concepts.
• Full turnkey process development and testing including statistical analysis of part measurement.
• Approximately 15% travel required.
