Job summary

South Shore Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking enthusiastic CNAs for weekend shifts at our premier skilled nursing facility in Freeport, NY. Under supervision, CNAs provide direct nursing care and assist residents with daily activities to enhance comfort and dignity.

Qualifications

• Current NYS CNA Certification is required.
• Previous Long Term Care experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promotes resident hygiene and comfort.
• Distributes food and fluids; feeds residents.
• Assists with repositioning and transferring residents.
• Ambulates and transports residents.
• Records and totals fluid intake and output.
• Weighs residents.
• Documents on flow sheets.
• Assists with admission, discharge and postmortem care.
• Responds to call lights promptly.
• Performs perineal care and uncomplicated colostomy care.
• Reports observations to the Team Leader/Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse.
• Takes and records vital signs.
• Keeps resident units clean and orderly.

Job Responsibilities / Duties:

• Assists with admission, discharge and postmortem care.

• Performs perineal care and uncomplicated colostomy care.
• Reports all observations & assessments to the Team Leader/Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse.
• Takes and records vital signs.
• Makes beds and keeps resident’s units clean and in order.
• Prepares room for housekeeping after resident discharge.

Skill / Experience Requirements.

CurrentNYS CNA CertificationRequired.

Previous Long Term Care experience a plus.
