Job summary

South Shore Rehabilitation and Nursing, a premier skilled nursing facility in Freeport, Long Island, seeks enthusiastic CNAs to join our professional staff. Under supervision, CNAs provide direct nursing care and assist with residents' personal comfort, daily activities, and safety.

Qualifications

• Current NYS CNA Certification is required.
• Previous Long Term Care experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promotes resident hygiene and comfort.
• Distributes food and fluids and assists with feeding.
• Assists with repositioning and transferring residents.
• Ambulates and transports residents.
• Records and totals fluid intake and output.
• Weighs residents.
• Documents on flow sheets.
• Assists with admission, discharge and postmortem care.
• Responds to call lights promptly.
• Performs perineal care and uncomplicated colostomy care.
• Reports observations to the Team Leader/Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse.
• Takes and records vital signs.
• Makes beds and keeps units clean and organized.
• Prepares room for housekeeping after discharge.
