Job summary

Aegis Therapies is hiring a Wellness Instructor in Restorative Care to join our Rehab Therapy team. You will work under the therapy team to deliver wellness, fitness, and exercise programs, with dedicated restorative care duties and exclusive responsibilities tailored for seniors.

Certification as CNA is required, High School diploma or equivalent, and preferred additional certifications in personal training or exercise specialty. Training is provided onsite to begin.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA certification required.
• Preferred: specialty fitness certification (personal trainer, exercise specialist).
• Background in exercise/activity training with seniors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide wellness, fitness, and exercise programs in collaboration with the therapy team.
• Receive restorative training onsite.
• Assist in restorative care focusing on ambulation, transfer, bed mobility, ROM, dressing/grooming, splint/prosthesis care.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent; CNA Certification

Specialty certification as personal trainer or fitness instructor

Experience with senior population exercise training (preferred)

Setting: Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing Facility, Senior Care

As a CNA/Wellness Instructor for Restorative Care, you will:

• Report to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy and work exclusively with the therapy team to provide knowledge and expertise in delivering appropriate wellness, fitness, and exercise programs.
• Receive full restorative training provided onsite.
• No restorative experience necessary, (CNA Certification Required)
• Assist in the restorative care of patients as directed.
• Exclusive restorative responsibilities (Ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active/passive range of motion, dressing/grooming, splint/prosthesis care) with limited or none of the “less desirable” tasks that often accompany a CNA position.
