Job summary

Aegis Therapies is seeking a Wellness Instructor in Restorative Care to join our Rehab Therapy team at the Aberdeen, SD location. The role focuses on delivering wellness, fitness, and exercise programs with full restorative training provided on-site.

As a CNA/Wellness Instructor, you will work with the therapy team under the Director of Rehabilitation, with limited or exclusive restorative tasks that support senior patients’ mobility and well-being.

Qualifications

• Must have CNA certification in state of practice.
• Experience in designing and delivering wellness/exercise programs preferred.
• Background in senior or rehabilitative care is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy.
• Provide wellness, fitness, and exercise programs with the therapy team.
• Receive restorative training on-site.
• Assist in restorative care of patients as directed.
• Perform exclusive restorative tasks (mobility, ROM, transfers) as assigned.

Job Type: Full Time Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week with weekend coverage Setting: Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing Facility, Senior Care Wellness Location: Aberdeen, SD

As a CNA/Wellness Instructor for Restorative Care, you will:

• Report to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy and work exclusively with the therapy team to provide knowledge and expertise in delivering appropriate wellness, fitness, and exercise programs.
• Receive full restorative training provided onsite.
• No restorative experience necessary (CNA Certification Required).
• Assist in the restorative care of patients as directed.
• Exclusive restorative responsibilities (Ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active/passive range of motion, dressing/grooming, splint/prosthesis care) with limited or none of the 'less desirable' tasks that often accompany a CNA position.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Current certification as Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA in state of practice
• Specialty certification as personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor, health and fitness specialist or similar area, preferred.
• Background in exercise and activity training with senior populations, preferred.
