Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in State College, PA is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Aide to assist residents with daily living activities, mobility, and personal care. You will respond to calls, support dining and activity participation, and maintain confidential information according to policy.

Responsibilities include documenting resident status, assisting with move-ins, housekeeping tasks, and collaborating with nursing staff to ensure safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed approved personal care aide program per state regulations as applicable.
• Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs; safely lift and transfer residents.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Must wear designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Reports incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals (e.g., HCD, RN/LPN, or ED).
• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Performs housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Responds promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
• Assists residents to and from the dining room, and to and from activities.
• Checks on residents, ensures attendance at meals and activities.
• communicates resident status, upcoming community information, resident appointments, admissions, and transfers.
• Assists new residents with move-in transition: provide emotional support.
• Other duties as assigned
