Job summary

Advocate Health Care seeks a hospital support aide to assist nursing staff in daily patient care, documentation, and coordination of routine tasks. The role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and efficient unit operations within an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• GED or HS diploma required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days of hire.
• Nurse Aide in good standing with the State Registry.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care (bathing, feeding, mobility) and document in EMR.
• Support admission, transfer and discharge processes with room setup and patient belongings management.
• Perform rounding and communicate patient/family observations to RN; assist with transporting as needed.
• Assist with nutritional tasks (tray setup, diet positioning) and skin care to maintain integrity.
• Coordinate tests and treatments across departments; maintain knowledge of EHR and unit supplies.
