Job summary

Corewell Health Hospice is seeking a part-time Certified Nursing Assistant for night shift at the Merlin & Carolyn Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville. You will provide direct patient care under supervision, assist with daily living activities, and document care in our care management system.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient environment, reporting equipment issues, and participating in unit quality monitoring as directed by the Unit Manager or Nurse Leader.

Qualifications

• Direct patient care experience as a CNA in a clinical setting.
• Ability to follow policies and procedures and document care.
• Maintain patient environment and equipment; report malfunctions.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including dressing, bathing, transport, and feeding.
• Document care provided per guidelines.
• Maintain clean and safe patient care areas and equipment.

About Hospice

Corewell Health Hospice specializes in providing end of life care and symptom management to individuals with a life expectancy of six month or less, serving individuals in their home, nursing facilities, and in the hospital. Essential Functions

• Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with policies and procedures of the unit.


• Responsible for direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding.


• Documents care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines.


• Maintains patients' environment/work area/equipment, and communicates any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.


• Complete and maintain required number of CNA educational hours.


• Participation in select unit quality monitoring activities under the direction of the Unit Manager or Nurse Leader.

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent


• Nursing Assistant Training Program Completion Required


• Michigan State Nursing Assistant Certification Required within 120 Days


• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC within 90 Days
