Job summary

Corewell Health in Stevensville, MI is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the Hanson Residence - Hospice South team. You will provide compassionate patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, following individual care plans and unit routines.

Daily duties include assisting residents with dressing, bathing, feeding, and mobility, documenting care, and maintaining a safe, clean environment. You will participate in unit quality activities and safety initiatives as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• State of Michigan approved CNA Training Course.
• Driver's License within the State of Michigan.
• Nursing Assistant CRT – Michigan licensing authority upon hire.
• CRT-BLS (AHA/ARC) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse.
• Direct day-to-day care of residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding.
• Documents care provided per guidelines.
• Maintains patients' environment/work area/equipment and reports malfunctions.
• Complete and maintain required CNA educational hours.
• Participates in select unit quality monitoring activities under the Unit Manager or Nurse Leader.
• Engages in safety initiatives and completes related competencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with policies and procedures of the unit.
• Responsible for direct day‑to‑day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding.
• Documents care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines.
• Maintains patients’ environment/work area/equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.
• Complete and maintain required number of CNA educational hours.
• Participation in select unit quality monitoring activities under the direction of the Unit Manager or Nurse Leader.
• Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Driver's License within the State of Michigan
• CRT - Nursing Assistant – Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Community and Health Systems upon hire
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or ARC American Red Cross Corewell Health Continuing Care (except Hospice), including Regional Rehab and Nursing Centers, Lakeland Continuing Care, Caring Circle Hospice 90 Days
