Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Radford, VA is seeking a Resident Care Associate (RCA) to assist residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care. The role involves daily activities support, documenting care, and upholding resident dignity and quality of life.

Requires Direct-Care/ PCA or CNA certification, CPR/First Aid, and weekend availability. Full-time positions offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), PTO, and EAP.

Qualifications

• Direct-Care, PCA or CNA certification required.
• Ability to fulfill both physical and emotional needs of residents.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
• Upholds resident confidentiality.
• Flexible availability, including weekends.
• Proficient with basic office equipment and computers.

Responsibilities

• Directly assist residents with daily tasks, maintaining communication with care staff.
• Aid residents with mobility using proper techniques and equipment.
• Conduct routine care rounds per individualized care plans.
• Assist with lifts, moves, and transport using safe practices.
• Maintain skin integrity and hygiene, changing incontinent residents as needed.
• Document daily care activities per policy and regulatory standards.
• Report issues promptly to the supervisor and respond to inquiries.
• Familiarize with care plans and support residents accordingly.
• Contribute observations to care planning and team discussions.
• Interact respectfully with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
