Job summary

The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting, under RN supervision. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and contribute to a safe, hygienic environment while following infection prevention policies.

This PRN position requires availability for 6 shifts per month, with two weekend shifts and holiday rotation. Additional weekend and after-hours incentives apply as noted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age 16.
• CNA certification required or in process within four months of start date.
• Annual competency testing and continuing education credits.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic health care including daily living activities (bathing, grooming, feeding) per care plan.
• Assists transferring, repositioning, and walking with proper technique.
• Completes food prep and dining tasks to create a positive dining experience.
• Assists with meals and hydration and documents care outcomes.
• Supports nursing staff with procedures as needed.
• Documents resident interactions and changes in condition for RN communication.
• Collects non-invasive specimens and records vital signs.
• Provides housekeeping and laundry assistance to maintain clean living areas.
• Supports wellness and recreational programs and encourages participation.
• May participate in committees or task forces.
