Job summary

Bethesda Health Group is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to provide patient care support including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, and safety. You will follow nurse directions, record vitals, assist with transfers and rounds, and ensure proper use of care devices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Active Certified Nurse Assistant certification in the state you will be working.
• CPR certification, or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift heavy object using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to transfer and move patients who vary with ability to assist weighing 200+lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with patients and equipment.
• Ability to physically perform necessary documentation in writing or use of tape recorder.
• Visual acuity with the ability to distinguish color.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care related support including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination and safety.
• Document patient information into records per guidelines.
• Orientates new resident to the facility and unit.
• Ensure resident receives an arm band and admission kit.
• Answer call lights promptly and respond to needs.
• Perform rounds and assist with repositioning every 2 hours (seated every hour).
• Take vital signs and weights and report to Charge Nurse.
• Assist with usage of devices and therapy orders.
• Maintain supplies and equipment and alert for replenishment.
• Complete duties as CNA and participate in ongoing education and reassignment as needed.
• Give report to Charge Nurse at shift end.
