Job summary

Bethesda Health Group is seeking a compassionate CNA to provide patient care support including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, and safety under the Charge Nurse. You will document care in patient records, assist with admissions, take vital signs, and respond promptly to call lights.

Responsibilities include transfers, positioning, and using assistive devices, while maintaining confidentiality and communicating effectively with the care team.

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of employment.
• CPR certification, or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication to interact with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to transfer and move patients up to 200+ lbs with assistance.
• Ability to push and pull equipment weighing over 40 lbs with assistance.
• Manual dexterity and ability to document.
• Visual acuity and color distinction.

Responsibilities

• Provide hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety care as directed.
• Document appropriately into patient records per guidelines.
• Complete admission tasks and orient new residents to the facility.
• Take vital signs and monitor weights, and report to Charge Nurse.
• Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs.
• Turn/reposition residents every 2 hours and arrange support devices as ordered.
• Assist with rounds and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Give handoff reports to Charge Nurse at shift changes.
