Job summary

Bethesda Health Group seeks a Certified Nurse Assistant to provide patient care including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety under the Charge Nurse. You will document in patient records and assist with admissions, rounds, and transfers.

Responsibilities include vital signs, turning and repositioning, shopping for supplies, and maintaining equipment. Excellent communication and the ability to lift 200+ lbs with assistance are essential.

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nurse Assistant certification in the state you will be working.
• CPR certification, or willing to obtain within six months of employment
• Long-term care experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors, and staff
• Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to lift heavy object using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary
• Ability to transfer and move patients who vary with ability to assist weighing 200+lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary
• Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance when necessary
• Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with patients and equipment
• Ability to physically perform necessary documentation in writing or use of tape recorder
• Visual acuity with the ability to distinguish color

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care related support including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety as directed by Charge Nurse.
• Documents appropriately into patient record charting based on skill level and follows established standards and guidelines.
• Completes rounds and turns residents as assigned; responds to call lights promptly.
• Heeds physician or therapy orders for slings, splints, braces or other devices.
• Accurately measures intake and output and records vital signs.
• Completes admission procedures and orients new resident to the facility and unit.
• Notifies Charge Nurse of pertinent information and ensures arms bands and admission kits are provided.
• Performs documentation and reports to Charge Nurse at shift change.
• Interacts with team members and maintains confidentiality.
