Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a dedicated CNA/Direct Care Giver to provide quality care and assist residents with daily living activities. You will encourage independence, participate in community activities, and help residents stay engaged in meaningful experiences.

The role requires current CNA licensure, excellent communication, physical stamina for lifts and transfers, and a compassionate, team-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Must possess current CNA license from the State and in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of the nursing team and follow supervisor instructions.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics.
• Must wear uniform during working hours with name badge.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Report incidents and documentation to appropriate personnel.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls and emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Communicate resident status and upcoming information to staff and families.
• Provide emotional support during move-ins and transitions.
