Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Roanoke, VA, seeks a CNA/Direct Care Giver to provide quality care and support with daily living activities for residents, promoting independence and participation in community activities.

You will work with a nursing team, document care plans, assist with meals and transfers, and participate in activities. A CNA license in good standing and CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days) are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess current CNA license from the State in which the community is located and in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• Effective verbal and written communication required.
• Organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs with safe body mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Report incidents and document care concerns in appropriate logs and notify nursing staff.
• Provide housekeeping tasks as directed and assist in meal/activities supervision.
• Attend and participate in required in-services and staff meetings.
• Operate within confidentiality policies and represent the community professionally.
