Qualifications

What you will do

The Construction Project Manager in our Building Solutions North America division will lead large, complex, multi-million dollar construction projects across the U.S. This is a remote position based in the U.S., with travel up to 50% or more as required.

Under general supervision, you will ensure the profitable execution of projects, collaborating with sales managers, branch teams, and clients to support early-stage sales activities, recommend strategies, select vendors, and manage scope, risks, and budgets. You will ensure projects comply with legal and safety standards, follow project management procedures, and balance customer satisfaction with financial results.

How you will do it

• Serve as the primary on-site leader, developing and implementing project schedules.
• Evaluate scope changes, pursue additional work through change orders, and negotiate final prices.
• Manage costs, billings, and collections, maintaining profitability and positive cash flow.
• Review contract terms and interpret project documents.
• Analyze project schedules and financial reports, proactively addressing issues and using MS Project to monitor progress and risks.
• Manage risks, establish recovery plans, and resolve disputes efficiently.
• Negotiate and issue subcontracts, ensure document control compliance, and oversee construction quality and safety standards.
• Manage procurement, develop long-term relationships with stakeholders, and coordinate resources with various project teams.
• Support project development efforts, coordinate customer training, and oversee subcontractor performance.

What we look for

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or an Associate’s Degree with relevant experience.
• At least eight years of direct project management experience in the building construction industry.
• Experience with Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS, Fire, and Security systems is preferred.
• PMI/PMP certification expected within two years.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in project management and financial software, MS Office, Adobe, Visio, and Windows.
• Willingness to travel as needed, with the ability to handle complex projects involving multiple subcontractors and scopes of work.
