What you will do

The Construction Project Manager in our Building Solutions North America division will lead large, complex, multi-million dollar controls construction projects across the U.S. This is a remote position based in the U.S., with travel up to 50% or more as required.

Under general supervision, you will ensure the profitable execution of projects, collaborating with sales and installation teams to support early-stage activities, including strategy, vendor selection, scope enhancements, value engineering, and risk assessment. You will ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, within budget, and in compliance with legal and safety standards, maintaining positive cash flow and pursuing change orders.

How you will do it

  • Act as the primary on-site leader for project execution teams, developing and implementing project schedules.
  • Evaluate contractual scope and client directives, pursuing additional work through change orders, and negotiating final settlements.
  • Manage costs, billings, and collections, ensuring timely and accurate billing and maintaining profitability.
  • Review and interpret contract terms, analyze financial reports and schedules, and communicate project status proactively.
  • Manage risks and develop recovery plans, resolving disputes efficiently.
  • Negotiate and issue subcontracts, oversee project documentation, and ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
  • Coordinate material procurement and develop long-term relationships with stakeholders.
  • Work with resource managers to meet project objectives, ensuring engineering and commissioning standards are met.
  • Support project development efforts and coordinate customer training.
  • For select projects, collaborate with and direct field teams, providing guidance on scope, scheduling, and management.

What we look for

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related experience with an Associate's Degree.
  • At least eight years of project management experience in building construction.
  • Experience with Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS, Fire, and Security systems is preferred.
  • PMI/PMP certification is expected within two years of employment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in project management software, MS Office, Adobe Writer, Visio, and Windows environment.
  • Willingness to travel and manage complex projects involving multiple subcontractors and scopes.
