What You Will Do

The Construction Project Manager, part of our Building Solutions North America division, leads large, complex, multi-million dollar controls construction projects across the U.S. This is a remote position based in the U.S., with travel up to 50% or more as required.

Under general supervision, you will ensure the profitable execution of projects, working with sales managers and installation teams to support early-stage sales activities, strategy, vendor selection, scope enhancements, value engineering, and risk assessment. You will oversee projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and in scope, maintaining positive cash flow and pursuing change orders. You will also ensure compliance with legal and safety standards, following established project management procedures, and balancing customer satisfaction with financial results.

How You Will Do It
  • Act as the primary on-site leader for execution teams, developing and implementing project schedules.

  • Evaluate scope changes, pursue additional work via change orders, and handle associated estimates and negotiations.

  • Manage costs, billings, collections, and maintain profitability and cash flow.

  • Review and interpret contract terms, analyze financial and project schedules, and communicate progress and issues proactively.

  • Manage risks, establish recovery plans, and resolve disputes efficiently.

  • Negotiate subcontracts, ensure document control compliance, oversee construction, and manage material logistics.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Attend progress meetings and ensure subcontractors meet expectations.

  • Coordinate with project teams for resource allocation, engineering, commissioning, and customer concerns.

  • Support project development efforts and coordinate customer training as needed.

  • For select projects, collaborate with and provide direction to teams, and support sales activities including cost estimation and scheduling.

What We Look For

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or an Associate's Degree with relevant experience.

  • At least eight years of project management experience in the building construction industry.

  • Experience with Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS, Fire, and Security systems is preferred.

  • PMI/PMP certification expected within two years of employment.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.

  • Proficiency in project management software, MS Office, Adobe, Visio, and Windows environment.

  • Willingness to travel as required, potentially outside the assigned geography.

  • Ability to handle complex projects with multiple subcontractors and scopes of work, managing diverse challenges effectively.
