Job summary

i-Pharm GxP is seeking a site-based CMMS Maintenance Systems Specialist in Charlotte, NC for a 12‑month contract with potential extension. The role is hands-on, building the CMMS from day one as turnover occurs from construction to operations.

You will implement asset hierarchies, PM schedules, spare parts data, and workflows, coordinating with Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability, Validation, and IT. Responsibilities include configuring CMMS, loading PM programs, managing master data quality,

Qualifications

• Degree or certificate in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Proven CMMS implementation/administration experience (Blue Mountain RAM, SAP PM, Maximo, eMaint).
• Experience in GMP or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting new facility start-ups or major turnovers is a strong plus.
• Ability to work with incomplete/evolving data and build structure from scratch.
• Strong communication skills across Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Validation.

Responsibilities

• Configure and administer CMMS platform including assets, PM schedules, work orders, and permissions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Reliability to build asset hierarchies.
• Develop and load preventive maintenance programs per OEM and GMP requirements.
• Manage master data quality: spare parts, BOMs, vendor docs.
• Serve as CMMS point of contact across Maintenance, Reliability, Validation, and Operations; train users pre go‑live.
• Troubleshoot data/configuration issues with IT/vendor support.
• Support audit readiness by ensuring GMP‑compliant documentation.

We are partnered with a leading pharmaceutical company in the construction and commissioning phase of a large-scale multi-building campus in Charlotte, North Carolina. We are looking for a site-based CMMS Maintenance Systems Specialist to lead the setup, configuration, and rollout of the computerized maintenance management system supporting a newly commissioned facility.

This is a hands-on, build-from-the-ground-up role. As equipment and systems move from construction into operational turnover, the CMMS needs to be structured correctly from day one — asset hierarchies, PM schedules, spare parts data, and workflows all need to be right before the site goes fully operational.

Where the Site Is Right Now

Early turnover phase. Equipment and assets are being handed over from construction to operations, but they aren't yet fully loaded or structured in the CMMS.

Priority order:

• Asset hierarchy build-out — structuring equipment data as it's turned over from construction
• Preventive maintenance program setup — building PM schedules and task lists ahead of operational start-up
• Spare parts and inventory data loading, tied to critical equipment
• Integration with automation/process control systems (e.g., DeltaV) for equipment data alignment

Day to Day

• Configuring and administering the CMMS platform (asset records, PM schedules, work order templates, permissions)
• Partnering with Engineering, Maintenance, and Reliability teams to build asset hierarchies as equipment is turned over
• Developing and loading preventive maintenance programs based on OEM recommendations, GMP requirements, and criticality assessments
• Managing master data quality — spare parts, bills of materials, vendor/equipment documentation
• Acting as point of contact across Maintenance, Reliability, Validation, and Operations for CMMS-related needsTraining maintenance technicians and engineers on CMMS use ahead of go‑live
• Troubleshooting data or configuration issues and working with IT/vendor support to resolve system‑level problems
• Supporting audit‑readiness by ensuring maintenance records and documentation meet GMP standards

What We Are Looking For

• Degree or certificate in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience
• Proven experience implementing or administering a CMMS (e.g., Blue Mountain RAM, SAP PM, Maximo, eMaint) — this is a requirement
• Working knowledge of maintenance/reliability practices in a GMP or regulated manufacturing environment
• Experience supporting new facility start‑ups, commissioning, or major system turnovers is a strong plus
• Comfortable working with incomplete or evolving data — this role is about building structure where none exists yet
• Strong communication skills; will be working across Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Validation teams daily
• Detail‑oriented and organized — data integrity in the CMMS underpins the site's entire maintenance program
