Job summary

Planet Pharma is seeking an experienced CMMS Scheduler/Planner to support a GMP-regulated biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Pittsburgh. The contractor will manage maintenance and calibration activities across laboratories, utilities, and manufacturing spaces, with the goal of transitioning to a permanent employee.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of coordinating multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Requires hands-on CMMS planning and maintenance scheduling experience.
• Experience with regulated manufacturing environments (pharma/biotech preferred).
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, calibration programs, and facilities operations.

Responsibilities

• Review, prioritize, and plan maintenance and calibration work orders within the CMMS.
• Screen work requests for completeness, accuracy, scope, priority, and business need.
• Develop detailed work plans including labor estimates, resource requirements, sequencing, materials, tools, and schedule durations.
• Create and maintain work plan templates and preventive maintenance job plans within the CMMS.
• Coordinate with Facilities, Engineering, Metrology, Automation, and Operations teams to ensure effective execution of maintenance activities.
• Manage maintenance backlog and drive schedule optimization.
• Coordinate required spare parts, materials, and equipment resources to support scheduled work.
• Support equipment return-to-service planning and coordinate with Quality and Operations as required.
• Generate planning and scheduling metrics and reports.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within maintenance planning processes.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
• Support startup and operational readiness activities for a growing manufacturing facility.

Duration: Initial contract with strong expectation of permanent conversion

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced CMMS Scheduler/Planner to support maintenance, calibration, and facilities operations within a GMP-regulated biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This is a critical, high-priority opening with the expectation that the selected consultant will transition into a permanent employee.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of coordinating maintenance and calibration activities across laboratories, quality control areas, utilities, manufacturing spaces, and facility infrastructure. Hands-on experience with Blue Mountain RAM (BMRAM) and R4 is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, prioritize, and plan maintenance and calibration work orders within the CMMS.


• Screen work requests for completeness, accuracy, scope, priority, and business need.


• Develop detailed work plans including labor estimates, resource requirements, sequencing, materials, tools, and schedule durations.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Blue Mountain RAM (BMRAM).


• Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience with R4 CMMS.


• Experience planning maintenance and calibration activities in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments.


• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, calibration programs, utilities, and facilities operations.


• Knowledge of work order lifecycle management and asset management practices.


• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting startup, commissioning, or expansion projects.


• Experience in cell therapy, gene therapy, biologics, or advanced therapy manufacturing.


• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.


• Knowledge of GMP, GDP, and FDA-regulated operations.
