Bluewater Energy, Inc. is seeking a contract Maintenance Planner to stand up and lead the maintenance program at a large-scale data center.

You will own the CMMS, configure asset and PM data, plan and assign work orders, manage backlog, and collaborate directly with site maintenance teams to establish execution discipline. Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of maintenance management experience in data center, power generation, or heavy industrial facilities.
• Hands-on administrator-level CMMS experience; UpKeep preferred, with Maximo/Fiix/eMaint/Limble as alternatives.
• Proven work order planning, PM program development, backlog management, and close-out discipline.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills for developing maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

• Stand up and lead the site maintenance program and CMMS to a fully functional state.
• Build asset registers, PM plans, job plans, and maintenance schedules in the CMMS.
• Plan, prioritize, assign, and schedule work orders; manage backlog and ensure completion.
• Coach technicians on CMMS use, documentation, and maintenance best practices.
• Establish preventive maintenance routines and frequencies based on OEM requirements.
• Coordinate with operations to schedule maintenance around priorities.
• Track spare parts and procurement for critical spares.
• Report maintenance KPIs to leadership; identify gaps and drive improvements.
• Support transition to a permanent internal hire with documented processes.
• Comply with OSHA and site safety programs, including lockout/tagout.

Job Title: Maintenance Planner (1)

Location: New York

Start Date: ASAP candidates expected on site within 2 weeks.

Duration: 6 months with potential to extend

COMPENSATION & LOGISTICS

Pay Rate: $70/hr straight time | $105.00/hr OT (anything in excess of 40 per week)

Mobilization: Miles at the government rate, meals ($68/day receipts not required), travel time at the ST rate, and any lodging expensed back according to receipts.

Home Leave: Home leave is provided once a month after initial 8 weeks; travel expenses (mileage or flight) reimbursed

Estimated Hours: Best estimate is average in the 60 over the course of the project. Schedule is client-directed and will fluctuate week to week.

Project Overview

The Client is seeking a contract Maintenance Planner to stand up and lead the maintenance program at a large-scale data center facility. The Client has recently gone live with a new CMMS, and this individual will take ownership of the system and build it into a fully functioning maintenance program: configuring asset and PM data, planning and assigning work orders, managing the backlog, and working directly with the site maintenance team to establish execution discipline. The role is a fit for a hands-on maintenance leader who has stood up or rebuilt maintenance programs from the ground up and can leave a working program behind for a permanent internal hire.

Key Responsibilities

• Stand up and lead the site maintenance program, taking ownership of the newly launched CMMS and driving it to a fully functioning state
• Build and refine asset registers, PM plans, job plans, and maintenance schedules within the CMMS
• Plan, prioritize, assign, and schedule work orders; manage the backlog and ensure work is executed, documented, and closed out properly
• Work directly with the site maintenance team, coaching technicians on CMMS use, work order documentation, and maintenance best practices
• Establish preventive maintenance routines and frequencies based on OEM requirements, equipment criticality, and site operating conditions
• Coordinate with the Client’s operations and commissioning teams to schedule maintenance around operational priorities
• Establish spare parts and materials tracking, including stocking levels and procurement coordination for critical spares
• Establish and report maintenance KPIs (PM compliance, schedule compliance, backlog health) to the Client’s leadership
• Identify gaps in the maintenance program and build the procedures, workflows, and standards to close them; support transition and handoff to a permanent internal hire
• Comply with all site safety programs, OSHA requirements, and Client safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and safe work practices around energized equipment

Ideal Candidate Profile

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of maintenance management experience in data center, power generation, or heavy industrial facilities, with prior experience standing up or rebuilding a maintenance program
• Strong hands‑on, administrator‑level experience with CMMS platforms; UpKeep experience preferred, with Maximo, Fiix, eMaint, Limble, or similar considered
• Proven work order planning and scheduling experience, including PM program development, backlog management, and close‑out discipline
• Strong leadership and coaching skills; able to bring a developing maintenance team up to standard on CMMS use and maintenance execution
• Data center or mission‑critical facility experience preferred (generators, UPS, switchgear, cooling systems); heavy industrial plant maintenance background considered
