Job summary

Valley Health System (New Jersey) in Paramus is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support both clinical and front desk duties in a busy outpatient practice.

You will perform patient intake, blood draws, EKGs, document in EMR, manage schedules, verify insurance, collect payments, and coordinate with staff to ensure smooth patient flow. Certification required; BCLS preferred; competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; formal Medical Assistant program required and NJ certification.
• Certification as CMA or RMA recognized by a board (AMT, AAMA, NCCT) required.
• Completion of coursework in office management, database management or business preferred.
• Six months of prior customer service/administrative experience required.
• BCLS certification preferred on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient intake, blood draw, EKG and tests as directed.
• Document accurately in EMR in accordance with licensure and policy.
• Greet, register, verify insurance, and collect payments at time of service.
• Maintain daily patient schedule and handle calls for appointments, refills, or inquiries.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure proper patient flow.
• Support staff and practice manager as requested.
