Job summary

MercyOne is seeking a Medical Assistant for day shift in our Iowa clinics. The role supports nursing duties, rooming patients, taking vitals, performing basic procedures, and assisting with patient flow in AEHR.

Qualifications

Successful completion of a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHP or ABHES.
CMA or RMA certification must be obtained within the first year of employment and maintained thereafter.
Clinic/physician office experience preferred.
BLS for Healthcare Providers certified within three months of hire.
Proof of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

Room patients, take vitals, and assist with procedures under provider supervision.
Perform EKGs, spirometry, tympanometry and related testing per protocol.
Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record.
Coordinate with care teams and communicate findings to provider and family.
Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and aseptic technique.
