Qualifications

• Completion of a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHP or ABHES.
• CMA or RMA certification must be obtained within the first year.
• Clinic/physician office experience preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required or obtained within 3 months.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completion within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic medical assistant functions (vital signs, rooming, assisting with procedures, immunizations, injections) under supervision.
• Maintain aseptic technique for procedures and medications administered.
• Document all patient interactions in the electronic medical record.
• Assist with a variety of procedures and operate diagnostic equipment as assigned (EKG, spirometry, tympanometry).
• Support interdisciplinary communication and educate patients and families regarding treatment plans.
• Report results and pertinent information to patients and health care team members.
• Ensure compliance with scope of license/certification and clinic policies.
• Maintain supplies and cleanliness of exam rooms.
