Job summary

HERO House NW is seeking a Program Director for Skagit Clubhouse in Mount Vernon, WA. This full-time, salaried leadership role directs startup, implementation, and ongoing operations of Skagit Clubhouse, focusing on social practice for adults recovering from psychiatric illness.

The position reports to the Chief Program Officer and requires maintaining budgets, staff supervision, and adherence to Clubhouse International Standards while engaging members and collaborating with external partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of experience working with people with psychiatric disabilities, preferably in supervisory capacity.
• Washington State Driver’s License
• Criminal history background check
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in psychology, sociology, social work or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word

Responsibilities

• Uphold mission, goals, objectives and policies of Skagit Clubhouse/HERO House NW.
• Implement operational procedures aligned with mission and policies.
• Hires, trains, evaluates and/or terminates Program Generalists.
• Ensure Work Ordered Day programming and other services are provided to members.
• Provide regular reports to HERO House NW executives.
• Fulfill funding contracts and maintain licenses and certifications.
• Operate within approved budget and monitor monthly.
• Train and develop staff to support mission and address needs.
• Represent Skagit Clubhouse with local, state, and national entities.
• Support illness self-management and recovery for participants.
• Coordinate activities across hospitality/kitchen or business units.
• Travel with members to conferences and events.
