Job summary

Excel Fitness in Draper, UT is seeking an Assistant GM to lead daily club operations, support the General Manager, and drive member satisfaction. You will oversee hiring, training, scheduling, payroll verifications, and inventory while maintaining our core values and exceptional service.

You will also coach staff, ensure certifications, and participate in marketing efforts and community outreach to promote the club’s world-class experience.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/AED certification required; uncertified staff can complete training within 30 days.
• Familiar with Excel mission, values, and culture and Planet Fitness brand and ops.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, encourage, develop, and supervise a team.
• Effective communication with internal and external customers.
• Team-oriented, motivated, and well organized.
• Ability to handle confidential information and complex situations.
• Basics in Excel and Word; DataTrak, Workday, Service Channel, and related apps.

Responsibilities

• Assist GM in planning and implementing strategies to attract and keep members.
• Oversee hiring process from candidate selection to onboarding.
• Train and develop new team members.
• Ensure team certifications and trainings are up to date.
• Counsel and discipline staff; supervise, motivate, coach performance.
• Monitor KPI goals and metrics for the club.
• Maintain a clean facility and world-class member service.
• Enter work orders and ensure maintenance of equipment.
• Audit inventory and place necessary orders.
• Assist with marketing and promotions for the club.
• Create club schedule and verify payroll items; manage commissions if applicable.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and address infractions with GM/HR.
